Heavy Equipment Operator


This is a Full-time position in Nahunta, GA posted April 8, 2021.

This position will report directly to the Production Shift Supervisor in our Nahunta, GA location.nn nnResponsible for operating heavy mobile equipment of various sizes and weights for mining and mineral processing facilities operating 24-hours per day, 7-days per week such as bulldozers and excavators in support of active mining operations.

This earth moving position will work collaboratively with a team of 8 to 10 operators, under the direction of the Production Shift Supervisor, focused on the safe and efficient delivery of raw ore to mine processing facilities and management of sand tails.nn nn The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: nn nnEnsure all work is performed within company, state, and federal regulations, standards, statutes, policies, and procedures.nn nnSafely and efficiently operates various pieces of mobile heavy equipment including bulldozers and tracked excavators.nn nn Act as a Safety Leader to ensure individual and team Safety remain top priority in the planning and execution of all tasks.nn nnReceive and execute written or oral instructions regarding material movement or excavation.nn nnEnsure operation of equipment is within machine capabilities and limitations.nn nnCommunicate effectively and professionally with other team members.nn nnWork closely with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel targeting zero incidents and continuous improvement of mine site EHS performance.nn nnContinuous improvement in mining approach, encourage initiatives intended to reduce safety risk, increase productivity, improve efficiency and reduce operating cost.nn nnClean heavy equipment as scheduled and ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all assigned work areas.nn nnMaintain knowledge of safe work practices and procedures.

Attend meetings and classes as identified by Chemours.nn nn The following is required for this role: nn nnHigh School diploma or equivalent (GED) and ability to read and write the English language.nn nnAbility to work a rotating schedule and/or varying shifts and must be punctual in adhering to established start times; attendance at work is an essential function to the performance of this position.nn nnAbility to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.nn nn The following is preferred for this role: nn nn3-5 years of experience operating heavy mobile equipment include tracked excavators, wheeled loaders, track type tractors (bulldozers), motor graders, and skid steers.
