Sr. Software Engineer – Vulnerability Management (Remote)

The Platform:

CrowdStrike Falcon is a two-component security product. One component is a ?sensor?, which is a lightweight agent installed on client machines that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behaviour, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon cloud. The cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer?s network, can correlate malicious behaviour across multiple machines, and presents our customers? operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.

The Product:

Falcon Spotlight is the industry?s first scanless endpoint vulnerability assessment solution, delivering realtime, zero-impact assessments of endpoint security posture. Falcon Spotlight adds preparation and readiness to the unparalleled prevention, detection and response provided by the Falcon platform, resulting in a stronger security posture and unprecedented breach protection.

About the Role:

This is a backend development position in the Spotlight Content team for the Cloud-based Content Management System. The content team focusses on continuous extraction and near-real-time analysis of security vulnerability information & knowledge base available in public domain from various vulnerability databases, and other locations for ever growing list of OS, components and applications, including zeroday vulnerabilities. It then creates a world class comprehensive vulnerability intelligence database in its content management system in Cloud which is used by the Falcon platform for assessing, prioritising and remediating vulnerabilities in customer environment. This role requires strong focus on analysis, rapid prototyping, research automation, scalability and development of required cloud services and APIs.


  • Engineering efforts architecting, designing & developing large-scale application services of the vulnerability Content Management System that stores & serves data for vulnerabilities relating to multiple OS platforms and thousands of applications.

  • Lead technically and be completely hands-on for driving one or more features end-to-end and collaborate with Product management, content team, and with cross-functional teams that are geographically distributed.

  • Demonstrate highest level of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and ability to drive features/technical-issues to closure in a fast paced and timely manner. Work with security researchers and vulnerability analysts to troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues

  • Extensive use of Go Lang/Python, relational databases, AWS cloud.

  • Ensure security and efficacy of the vulnerability data. Build vulnerability management tracking capabilities by conducting analysis on data and providing reviewed content to the cloud platform Team for product efficacy

  • Backend engineering systems and process automation engineering

  • Collaborate and drive integration with platform teams and product teams such as Intel.

  • Continuous re-engineering to improve architecture, knowledge models, performance and stability

Key Qualifications Required:

  • 10+ years of experience building, delivering and maintaining high quality enterprise products and systems.

  • Bachelor’s or Master?s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.

  • Solid work experience in Product design & development in Python / Go Lang. Strong experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems.

  • Strong database skills (MySQL, MS SQL). Exposure to AWS cloud / S3 / Splunk.

  • Strong ability to technically lead, communicate, collaborate at all levels of an organization.

  • Experience working and close collaboration in a team (distributed/global) to ship product features and releases.

  • The skills to meet commitments on time and produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration. Some understanding of security vulnerabilities and sources of vulnerability information (i.e. NVD, CVE, NIST, etc.)


  • Experience working on Go Lang

  • Experience of vulnerability management products and working level understanding of sources of vulnerability information (i.e. NVD, CVE, NIST, etc.).

  • Prior knowledge of web-scrapping.

  • Good understanding of Windows OS and application.

  • Knowledge of other Operating systems like Linux Distros or Mac.

  • Experience with Agile process.
